When I was a teen I was heavily into punk and surf music.\u00a0 The lyrics were edgy and disruptive, from the Dead Kennedy's, Minor Threat, and many others including the Butthole Surfers who influenced my teen years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Butthole surfers while not one of my goto bands for mixed tapes, or playlists, I did enjoying musing on the lyrics of the song Pepper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recently on a local Hawaiian message board, a study<\/a> was presented about sex workers and purchasing sex online in Hawaii, from a recent study\u00a0
by the Hawaii State Commission on the Status of Women and Arizona State University School of Social Work suggests the response to online advertisements for sex is far greater in Hawaii than other places in the United States. This groundbreaking study is the first to look at the behavior of sex buyers in Hawaii, where currently there is no active strategy to address prostitution demand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This was the article referenced, which did not point out the specifics of the study.\u00a0 When I quoted this I was unaware that this was only a study on women looking for men.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The article does not give any specifics of the demographics, or of which groups were studied, it just said that one in ten men in Hawaii would purchase sexual services online.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After mentioning in the online group that I believed that the difference was that there was a broader acceptance of the homosexual community in Hawaii, and the promiscuous nature of homosexuality based on HIV\/AIDS statistics which indicates that gay males make up only 2% of the US population, but are 44 times as likely to contract aids as heteroseuxals, or that that 2% of the population (gay males) are responsible for having over 58% of new HIV infections.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before there was any questions or debate, my comments were deleted, and I was prevented from commenting in the group further.\u00a0 Yet a lot of accusations, and shade was cast my way.\u00a0 So I wanted to make some clarifications.\u00a0 I have done some research on this data and have further illustrated my points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However I was able to indicate in the conversation, that after reading the study, the information was not collected on anyone except for “women seeking men”.\u00a0 The homosexual side of these demographics were not considered at all.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However when I found I was blocked from the group, I wrote the admin of the group.\u00a0 This was my message.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This what I wrote to Joel (another participant in this conversation, that I can not respond to now) about the sex worker conversation:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So what i was reading was from the article, which did not define whether it was men seeking men, women seeking men, etc.. it just said that Hawaii was the highest rate of online sex purchases. My comment was about homosexuality being prominent in Hawaii and i did give a study showing the top 3 states for homosexuality and Hawaii was one of the top 3, i posted that study from Penn State (edit: I meant UCLA<\/a>), but I see now my comments were deleted. I think I have it opened on my browser at home, ill screenshot it later if it is, since my comments were deleted. But then someone quoted out of the study (not the article that you posted, but the language from the article) showing that the study was conducted for women seeking men and nothing else. At which point I replied and conceded that I was wrong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And as I pointed out in the article that I wrote several years ago, is that the homosexual male population is much more promiscuous than the heterosexual population, which is the reason that the homosexual population (gay males) make up only 2% of the USA population, yet 58% of new HIV\/AIDS infections come from that 2%. So I asserted that Hawaii's higher than average population of homosexuals could very well be the reason for higher than average online sex purchases<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But I did concede that the study was not done regarding gay people ONLY heterosexuals. But based on the information in the article, that was not obvious. When I read the study itself (outside of the article that you posted), Iconceded that the article was not at all about homosexuality, ONLY about “women seeking men”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I further followed up with these two studies in fact showing that homosexual men are far more likely to buy and sell sex online that heteroseuxal men.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Ok so yes. Homosexuals are about 45 times more likely to be involved in sex work than heterosexuals according to the studies that I have found.

In conclusion, just like the song Pepper from the Butthole Surfers, as I see it, my words are warnings to those who are young and\/or reckless.\u00a0 Heed caution to the homosexual lifestyle, AIDS is a terrible way to die.\u00a0 We all die, but I would prefer a less horrible as a death sentence, and for God sake, if you are gay get married already, please<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
