When Donald Trump took the oath of office once again, he wasted no time reshaping the federal government. With the stroke of a pen, he signed a series of executive orders aimed at reversing policies from the previous administration and reinstating his America First agenda.<\/p>\n
Trump\u2019s first move was to revoke 78 executive orders from his predecessor, effectively erasing policies he deemed harmful to national interests. Free speech was high on the list, as he signed an order prohibiting federal censorship and protecting whistleblowers within government agencies.<\/p>\n
The federal government, in Trump\u2019s view, had become a tool for political persecution. His new order directs agencies to end biased investigations and reestablish fair treatment of all Americans. Additionally, former officials suspected of election interference will face scrutiny under a newly established review process.<\/p>\n
Declaring a national energy emergency, Trump removed barriers to oil, gas, and coal production. He also greenlit resource extraction projects in Alaska, aiming to reduce energy costs and cut reliance on foreign oil.<\/p>\n
One of his most controversial yet expected moves was reinstating a national emergency at the southern border. This allows the deployment of military forces to assist with border security and detain illegal migrants. Further tightening immigration policies, he signed an order attempting to end birthright citizenship for children of illegal immigrants.<\/p>\n
True to form, Trump began the process of withdrawing from the World Health Organization and reassessing U.S. foreign aid. These moves, he argued, would redirect funds back to American taxpayers and curb foreign influence over domestic policies.<\/p>\n
One of the most debated orders centered on gender identity. Trump directed federal agencies to define gender strictly as male and female, eliminating government policies recognizing non-binary identities. In a similar vein, he abolished diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs across federal agencies, stating that merit should be the sole criteria for hiring and promotion.<\/p>\n
With crime rates a hot-button issue, Trump reinstated the federal death penalty for certain violent crimes. He also labeled specific drug cartels as terrorist organizations, giving law enforcement greater authority to dismantle them.
\nAs a libertarian and a pro-life advocate, I personally disagree with the death penalty.\u00a0 \u00a0Instead I would opt-in for making a law legalizing dueling again.
