The Birth of Dylan Cash Thompson, Trump\u2019s Second Term, and the Fight for Meritocracy<\/strong><\/p>\n

On January 31st, 2025<\/strong>, I brought home my seventh child, my son, Dylan Cash Thompson<\/strong>. The name carries weight\u2014Dylan<\/strong>, meaning \u201cson of the sea,\u201d fitting for a baby we affectionately called \u201cfish\u201d before he was even born, and Cash<\/strong>, an homage to the legend Johnny Cash<\/strong>, one of the greatest musical storytellers of all time. And, of course, Thompson<\/strong>, because legacy matters.<\/p>\n

Bringing a child into the world makes you think about the future\u2014the kind of world they\u2019ll inherit, the values they\u2019ll be raised with, and the battles they may have to fight. And while I held my son in my arms, another fight was playing out on the world stage\u2014Trump\u2019s second term and his war against DEI policies<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Trump 2.0: No More Mr. Nice Guy<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Trump isn\u2019t the same man he was during his first presidency. This time, he\u2019s bolder, more direct, and completely unfiltered<\/strong>. And I think I know why.<\/p>\n

In July 2024<\/strong>, Trump was nearly assassinated. Someone tried to silence him forever<\/strong>, and that moment changed him. Almost losing your life will do that. I know this firsthand\u2014because in 2013, I almost died in a car crash<\/strong>. A drunk driver hit me head-on<\/strong>, and while he was killed instantly\u2014decapitated on impact<\/strong>\u2014I was left trapped in a burning car with over 40 broken bones<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

That experience changed me. Before that, I was more diplomatic. I still held the same values, but I was careful with my words, always trying to keep the peace<\/strong>. But when you come that close to death, you realize something: you don\u2019t have time for games<\/strong>. You don\u2019t have time to sugarcoat the truth. You either stand for what you believe in, or you let the world walk all over you.<\/p>\n

Trump has had his 2013 moment<\/strong>\u2014and now he\u2019s done playing nice.<\/p>\n

DEI is a Disaster \u2013 Here\u2019s Why<\/strong><\/h2>\n

One of Trump\u2019s biggest moves this term has been his crackdown on DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) hiring practices<\/strong>. And I 100% support him<\/strong> on this. The idea that someone\u2019s race, gender, or identity<\/strong> should be a factor in their ability to land a job, fly a plane, or perform surgery<\/strong> is beyond insane.<\/p>\n

Take the FAA disaster<\/strong>\u2014a prime example of what happens when you prioritize identity over competence<\/strong>. We literally had a plane crash that could have been avoided<\/strong> if the hiring process had been based on merit rather than quotas<\/strong>. Trump put it perfectly: Would you rather have the best-qualified pilot landing your plane, or someone hired for the sake of \u201cdiversity\u201d?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I know my answer.<\/p>\n

When my wife was giving birth to Dylan, I didn\u2019t care what race or gender the doctor was. I cared that they were the best at their job<\/strong>. When I board a plane, I don\u2019t care if my pilot is black, white, purple, or a one-legged pirate<\/strong>\u2014I just want the person who is most qualified<\/strong> to be in that cockpit.<\/p>\n

The Moment I Stopped Playing Nice<\/strong><\/h2>\n

I wasn\u2019t always this vocal. Back in the day, I was involved with organizations like NORML (National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws)<\/strong> and Sensible Washington<\/strong>, pushing for cannabis legalization. I worked alongside left-leaning activists<\/strong>, many of whom were deep into the DEI agenda<\/strong>. I disagreed with it, but back then, I kept my mouth shut a little more than now.<\/p>\n

But after my near-death experience<\/strong>, something snapped. I wasn\u2019t going to pretend anymore<\/strong>. I wasn\u2019t going to play the diplomat<\/strong>. If I was going to respect other people\u2019s beliefs, I demanded that same respect in return<\/strong>. And if they couldn\u2019t give it to me, then I had no problem telling them to f<\/strong>* off**.<\/p>\n

That attitude extended into my personal life, too. My ex-wife started surrounding herself with progressive activists, LGBTQ advocates, and DEI supporters<\/strong>. Over time, she started turning against my views<\/strong>, even though they hadn\u2019t changed much since we first met.<\/p>\n

We held on for eight years<\/strong>, but ultimately, we grew too far apart<\/strong>. And you know what? That\u2019s fine. I\u2019d rather stand firm in my beliefs<\/strong> than bend just to make someone else comfortable<\/strong>. Having children made the separation painful. But after years of battling fights about gender inequality and having the kids so near to it, well, it was time<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

DJ Disruptarian: Music, Truth, and Revolution<\/strong><\/h2>\n

This is why I do what I do. This is why DJ Disruptarian<\/a> exists<\/strong>. Music isn\u2019t just sound\u2014it\u2019s a message<\/strong>, a force for change<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Final Thoughts<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Trump has woken up. So have I. And if you\u2019re reading this, maybe it\u2019s time you wake up too<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

We\u2019re done playing the diversity game<\/strong>. We\u2019re done putting identity above competence<\/strong>. It\u2019s time to bring back meritocracy<\/strong>, to reward skill over skin color<\/strong>, and to build a world where people are judged by their abilities\u2014not their pronouns<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m raising Dylan in a world of truth, not illusions<\/strong>. And I hope, by standing firm, I\u2019m helping to build that world for him and for all of us<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
