Buck spoke with the kind of honesty and emotional clarity that\u2019s become increasingly rare in this highly charged cultural conversation. It moved me\u2014not just as a commentator or content creator, but as a <strong>father<\/strong>, a <strong>libertarian<\/strong>, and someone who\u2019s been forced to confront this issue deeply in my own life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Let me say this upfront: I respect Buck Angel. A lot. He\u2019s a trans man who tells the truth, even when it\u2019s uncomfortable. And this tragedy he brought to light isn\u2019t just some one-off anomaly. That to question any part of the process is hateful. That to hesitate, even for a moment, is to put young lives at risk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But what about the young people who go through with these interventions\u2014<strong>surgery, hormones, irreversible changes to their bodies<\/strong>\u2014and then realize the outcomes aren\u2019t what they were promised? Or worse, suffer extreme complications that no one warned them about?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the case Buck Angel discussed, phalloplasty\u2014the surgical creation of a penis from other body tissues\u2014resulted in catastrophic complications that may have played a role in this person\u2019s death. It\u2019s hard to even write those words. But we <strong>must<\/strong> say them. Because this isn\u2019t just about ideas. This is about human beings. It\u2019s about <strong>real lives<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Too many people are being ushered into these decisions before their brains, bodies, or lives have fully developed. And far too few are being told the truth about what these procedures entail\u2014not just the pain and the risk of complications, but the reality of long-term consequences, regret, infertility, and medical dependence for life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A Father\u2019s View from the Frontlines<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This issue isn\u2019t theoretical for me. Two of my own kids have leaned into gender activism and identity exploration in recent years. It\u2019s part of why I stay so engaged in this cultural debate. My ex-wife, who\u2019s now married to a self-identified transvestite, has also been a strong proponent of this ideology\u2014and the ripple effect on our kids has been unmistakable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I\u2019ve tried to meet them with love. With patience. I\u2019ve never insulted them, never demeaned them, never denied their right to exist or express themselves. But I\u2019ve also never lied to them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I\u2019ve said it plainly: <strong>you can change your presentation, your name, your pronouns\u2014but you cannot change your sex<\/strong>. Chromosomes are immutable. Biology doesn\u2019t care about feelings. And no amount of social affirmation can make you into something you're not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This stance has cost me. I\u2019ve been called every name in the book\u2014bigot, transphobe, abusive. I\u2019ve lost friends. I\u2019ve lost connection with some of my kids. But I will not compromise truth for temporary peace. Because the stakes are too high.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Illusion of Informed Consent<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here\u2019s where I get truly angry: young people are being told that gender transition is as simple as picking an identity and signing up. Many doctors, therapists, and educators have adopted a <strong>\u201cgender-affirming model\u201d<\/strong> that prioritizes affirmation over caution. Instead of treating dysphoria as a psychological condition with many potential causes, they treat it as a medical emergency\u2014one that requires immediate, life-altering intervention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That is <strong>medical malpractice<\/strong>. Full stop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Phalloplasty, double mastectomies, puberty blockers, hormone replacement therapy\u2014these are not neutral treatments. They come with massive risks. They require lifelong maintenance. And in many cases, they result in <strong>sterility<\/strong>, <strong>sexual dysfunction<\/strong>, and <strong>lifelong regret<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">How many teenagers are truly capable of understanding what that means? How many have the maturity, the life experience, or the long-term perspective to give <em>real<\/em> informed consent?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I would argue very few. And yet the pipeline continues\u2014because it\u2019s politically protected, culturally glorified, and increasingly profitable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Compassion Without Compromise<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What\u2019s often lost in this debate is the idea that you can <strong>love someone and still tell them the truth<\/strong>. We\u2019ve created a culture where affirmation is equated with love, and disagreement is equated with hate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That\u2019s not just false\u2014it\u2019s dangerous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As a father, I\u2019ve had to walk this line. One of my daughters was in an LGBTQ relationship, and I supported her. I drove her to see her partner, asked questions, gave advice. I didn\u2019t judge her. I didn\u2019t try to shame her into heteronormativity. I just stayed present in her life, made sure she was okay, and offered perspective when I could.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But when it comes to <strong>gender ideology<\/strong>, I draw the line at lies. I won't pretend that there are more than two sexes. I won\u2019t refer to a biological male as a woman. And I certainly won\u2019t support my children undergoing medical procedures that could irreparably harm their bodies and minds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can <strong>stand for biological truth<\/strong> and still deeply love your kids. You can honor their emotions without surrendering to them. That\u2019s not hate. That\u2019s what responsible parenting looks like.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What Buck Angel Gets Right<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Buck Angel\u2019s honesty in talking about the dark side of transition is rare\u2014and desperately needed. As a trans man himself, his voice carries weight. He\u2019s not trying to erase anyone\u2019s identity. He\u2019s trying to <strong>save lives<\/strong> by demanding that we stop pretending these procedures are risk-free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Buck understands that some people are pushed too fast. That many are not given the tools\u2014or the truth\u2014they need to make informed choices. And that the cost of that failure is sometimes <strong>irreversible loss<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We need more voices like Buck\u2019s. And we need fewer cowards in medicine, media, and government who are willing to <strong>sacrifice children on the altar of ideology<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Final Thoughts: This Is About the Future<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To the young people out there: I see your passion. I admire your drive to fight for what you believe in. I was that way too\u2014I protested, I pushed back, I challenged systems. That\u2019s part of growing up and discovering your power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But don\u2019t let your rage blind you to <strong>reality<\/strong>. Don\u2019t let social media influencers or activist teachers sell you a dream that ends in medical tragedy. And don\u2019t let anyone tell you that you must trade truth for belonging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To the parents: love your kids with everything you have. But don\u2019t surrender your wisdom. Don\u2019t abdicate your responsibility. <strong>They need your guidance more than your approval.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And to everyone who watches videos like Buck Angel\u2019s and feels the weight of grief and frustration\u2014channel that into change. Into conversations. Into holding the medical industry and culture warriors <strong>accountable<\/strong> for what they\u2019re doing to an entire generation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>This isn\u2019t about rejecting people.
