How Do I Choose the Right Bunded Drip Tray for Abu Dhabi Conditions?

I am looking for some practical advice from people who have used drip trays in industrial or workshop environments because we are planning to replace a few old trays at our facility and I am not sure what specifications I should focus on. The trays we currently have are showing signs of wear, and I do not want to wait until there is an actual spill before replacing them. We mainly need them for catching small leaks and drips around equipment and containers, so the new trays need to be strong enough for regular use and easy for our staff to move and clean. I have been researching the Top bunded drip trays in Abu Dhabi, but I am finding it difficult to compare the different options because the sizes, materials, and capacities vary so much. For anyone who has purchased these before, what would you consider the most important feature? Is it the overall capacity, the strength of the material, the raised edges, portability, or something else? I initially thought choosing a larger tray would automatically be better, but then I realised that a very large tray may be difficult for one person to move or position under certain equipment. At the same time, a tray that is too small may not provide enough containment if there is a larger leak. How do you normally decide what size is appropriate? Another thing I am curious about is the difference between a normal drip tray and a bunded version. I understand that bunded trays are designed to provide secondary containment, but I would like to know how much difference that makes in everyday industrial use. We are not dealing with huge spills every day, thankfully, but we want something that gives staff a reasonable safety margin if a container starts leaking unexpectedly. Has anyone here had an experience where a bunded tray prevented a small leak from spreading across the floor? I think hearing about real situations would help me understand how useful they are beyond the basic specifications. Material quality is another concern. Our facility can become quite warm during parts of the year, and the trays may be exposed to outdoor conditions from time to time. Does heat or direct sunlight affect certain tray materials more than others? I have seen plastic options that look very practical, but I am unsure how well they hold up after repeated exposure to heat, heavy equipment, and cleaning chemicals. Would a good supplier normally explain whether a particular tray is suitable for the substances likely to be placed above it? I think compatibility is something that could easily be overlooked by someone who is focused only on size and price. We also need the trays to be relatively easy to clean. If there is a small oil or chemical spill, I do not want staff struggling to remove the residue or having to replace the entire tray after every incident. Are there certain designs that make cleaning easier? I have seen trays with different shapes and depths, and I am wondering whether the deeper options are always better or whether they can actually make access more difficult. Another issue is the weight of the equipment that will sit above the trays. Some of our containers are fairly heavy when full, so I need to make sure the tray can handle the load without bending or becoming unstable. Is the safe working capacity normally listed by the supplier, and should customers pay attention to both the liquid containment volume and the maximum load? I suspect these are two completely different measurements, but I would appreciate confirmation from someone who uses them regularly. We are also thinking about how our staff will move the trays when cleaning the area. Some locations are easy to access, while others are more awkward, so portability could be important. Would you choose a tray with built in handles if it needs to be moved frequently, or are handles not really necessary for larger models? I am trying to avoid buying something that looks good on paper but becomes annoying to use after a few weeks. Another question is whether drip trays need regular inspections even when they have not caught a visible spill. I assume they should be checked for cracks, deformation, or other damage, especially if heavy containers are placed on them repeatedly. How often do other workplaces inspect theirs? Do you have a routine schedule, or do employees simply check them during normal cleaning? I would like to create a simple procedure for our staff so that problems are identified early. Cost is obviously part of the decision as well. We have a fixed budget, but I am willing to spend more if a stronger tray lasts considerably longer and reduces the chance of replacement later. Have other businesses found that paying more for a quality bunded tray actually saves money over time, or are there reasonably priced options that perform just as well? I would rather compare durability and practical use than simply choose the cheapest product available. We are also considering ordering several units at once, so I am wondering whether suppliers normally help customers select different sizes based on where each tray will be used. That would be useful because our requirements are not exactly the same in every area. Some equipment needs only a small tray underneath, while other locations may require much larger secondary containment. If anyone here has experience buying drip trays in Abu Dhabi, what did you learn after using them for a few months that you wish you had known before ordering? Were there any features that turned out to be more important than expected? I am particularly interested in honest feedback about durability, cleaning, handling, and containment capacity because those are the things that matter most to us in daily use. Before I place an order, I would really appreciate hearing what other facility managers, workshop staff, or industrial users would look for if they were choosing bunded drip trays today.
