Charger battery died at the drive-in – looking for a good shop in Musaffah
Well that was a bit embarrassing. I took my 2018 Dodge Charger to a drive-in cinema last weekend with the family and after a couple of hours of listening to the radio with the engine off, the car wouldn’t start. Had to get a jump from another moviegoer, which was pretty humiliating to be honest. I know I should have been more careful about draining the battery, but I didn’t think two hours of radio would kill it completely. The car has been a bit sluggish to start in the mornings for a while now, so I’m pretty sure this battery is on its last legs and the drive-in incident just finished it off. It’s the original battery from when I bought the car so it’s about four years old now, which I guess is reasonable for a battery here. I’m based in Abu Dhabi and I’ve seen quite a few workshops in the Musaffah Shabiya area that work on American cars. I’m looking for Quality battery fitting for Dodge models in Musaffah Shabiya because I want to make sure I get the right battery for the Charger. I know these cars have a lot of electronics and I’ve heard that the Hemi models need a battery with enough cold cranking amps to start the V8 properly. I’m also wondering about the battery coding – does the Charger need any kind of reset when you fit a new battery, or is it just a straightforward swap? Has anyone here had their Charger or Challenger battery replaced at a shop in Musaffah and had a good experience? I’d appreciate some recommendations because I need to get this sorted soon and I don’t want to end up with another dead battery in a few months.
