Is it even possible to inspect one of these without a main dealer?
Is it even possible to inspect one of these without a main dealer?
I’m looking at an older Silver Spirit that’s been sitting for a while and the seller keeps saying it just needs a good service and someone to drive it. My concern is whether a normal inspection place can even do a meaningful check on something this old and unusual, or if I’m better off paying main dealer rates just to get someone who’s seen one before. A colleague told me to see details of what’s covered before booking anything, so I did, and it seems more thorough than I expected, but I’m still unsure whether an independent inspector will actually understand a car this niche. Has anyone had an older Rolls checked by someone independent and did they actually know what they were looking at, or did you end up paying for a report that just said “appears roadworthy” and nothing useful?
