House Oversight Committee 2025: Taking on Corruption and Cover-Ups

In the intricate dance of American governance, the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform stands as a sentinel, ensuring that power remains a servant to the people, not its master. In 2025, under the leadership of Chairman James Comer, this committee has embarked on a series of bold investigations, challenging the shadows where corruption seeks refuge.

Unmasking the “Biden Crime Family”

Central to the committee’s recent endeavors is the investigation into the Biden family’s domestic and international business dealings. The committee aims to determine whether these activities compromise U.S. national security and President Biden’s ability to lead with impartiality. Evidence suggests that members of the Biden family have engaged in selling access to the highest levels of government for personal enrichment, often to the detriment of U.S. interests. The committee is committed to following the money trail—consisting of complex, international transactions worth millions of dollars—to provide answers to the American people. The American people deserve to know whether the President’s connections to his family’s business deals occurred at the expense of American interests and whether they represent a national security threat.

Delving into the Origins of COVID-19

The origin of COVID-19—a virus with a death toll surpassing one million Americans and over six million globally—is a question that must be answered. Discovering the origin is vital to providing accountability and protecting Americans in the future. Mounting evidence points to the virus originating from a leak at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV). EcoHealth Alliance, a U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) grantee, awarded taxpayer funds to the WIV to conduct gain-of-function research on bat coronaviruses—research that may have started the pandemic. Committee Republicans have unearthed emails revealing that top virologists warned Dr. Anthony Fauci, the Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, that the virus appeared to be genetically engineered and pointed to a lab leak in Wuhan. However, these emails reveal that Dr. Fauci and former NIH Director Dr. Francis Collins may have colluded with scientists to downplay the lab leak theory for their preferred narrative of natural origin. The American people deserve answers and accountability. Committee Republicans will continue to follow the facts to determine what, if anything, could have been done differently to guard against the harms Americans have endured during the pandemic.

Addressing the Border Crisis

Chairman James Comer and the Oversight Committee are investigating President Biden’s radical open borders policies that have created the worst border crisis in American history. Because of the Biden Administration’s reckless policies, human trafficking is flourishing, deadly drugs such as fentanyl are pouring into towns across the U.S., and our laws are being flouted. The committee is committed to holding the Biden Administration accountable for its dereliction of duty and is seeking solutions to support the men and women who risk their lives to protect our border on a daily basis.

The Committee’s Mission and Composition

The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform is the main investigative committee of the United States House of Representatives. Its broad jurisdiction and legislative authority make it one of the most influential and powerful panels in the House. The committee’s jurisdiction includes federal civil service, government management and accounting measures, holidays and celebrations, overall economy, efficiency, and management of government operations and activities, including federal procurement, national archives, population and demography, including the Census, postal service, public information and records, relationship of the federal government to the states and municipalities, and reorganizations in the executive branch of the government.

The committee is composed of both Republican and Democratic members. As of 2025, the Republican members include Chairman James Comer (KY-01), Jim Jordan (OH-04), Michael Turner (OH-10), Paul Gosar (AZ-09), Virginia Foxx (NC-05), Glenn Grothman (WI-06), Michael Cloud (TX-27), Gary Palmer (AL-06), Clay Higgins (LA-03), Pete Sessions (TX-17), Andy Biggs (AZ-05), Nancy Mace (SC-01), Pat Fallon (TX-04), Byron Donalds (FL-19), Scott Perry (PA-10), William Timmons (SC-04), Tim Burchett (TN-02), Marjorie Taylor Greene (GA-14), Lauren Boebert (CO-04), Anna Paulina Luna (FL-13), Nick Langworthy (NY-23), Eric Burlison (MO-07), Eli Crane (AZ-02), Brian Jack (GA-03), John McGuire (VA-05), and Brandon Gill (TX-26). The Democratic members include Ranking Member Gerald E. Connolly (VA-11), Eleanor Holmes Norton (DC), Stephen Lynch (MA-8), Raja Krishnamoorthi (IL-08), Ro Khanna (CA-17), Kweisi Mfume (MD-07), Shontel Brown (OH-11), Melanie Stansbury (NM-01), Robert Garcia (CA-42), Maxwell Frost (FL-10), Summer Lee (PA-12), Greg Casar (TX-35), Jasmine Crockett (TX-30), Emily Randall (WA-06), Suhas Subramanyam (VA-10), Yassamin Ansari (AZ-03), Wesley Bell (MO-01), Lateefah Simon (CA-12), Dave Min (CA-47), Ayanna Pressley (MA-7), and Rashida Tlaib (MI-12).

A Commitment to Accountability

In an era where truth often battles obscurity, the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform exemplifies the tenacity and courage required to uphold the principles of democracy. Their unwavering dedication to uncovering the facts, regardless of where they lead, serves as a beacon of integrity in the complex landscape of American politics. The FBI, Religious Spying, and the Erosion of Trust

It sounds like the plot of a dystopian novel: the most powerful law enforcement agency in the United States is caught red-handed targeting churches, spying on religious institutions, and labeling concerned parents as potential domestic terrorists. But this isn’t fiction. This is the state of our nation in 2024.

Spying on Churches? Seriously?

During a recent Senate hearing, it was revealed that the FBI compiled lists of Catholic parishes and churches they deemed “potentially suspect.” Why? Because faith and free speech, apparently, are now grounds for federal surveillance.

Senator Josh Hawley, in a fiery exchange, pressed Mr. Patel, the nominee for an FBI leadership position, to commit to fully rescinding this disgraceful memo and investigating those responsible. Patel dodged, sidestepped, and delivered the typical bureaucratic word salad. But here’s the truth—this memo never should have existed in the first place. How did we get to the point where attending a Catholic Mass could put you on a government watchlist?

Parents as Domestic Terrorists

If spying on churches wasn’t enough, the FBI was also caught using counterterrorism resources to investigate parents who spoke up at school board meetings. That’s right, if you dared to question critical race theory or COVID policies, you were treated like a threat to national security.

Parents who have every right to be involved in their children’s education were instead targeted, monitored, and in some cases, had FBI cases opened against them. Again, this was all based on an internal DOJ memo under Attorney General Merrick Garland. The evidence? Whistleblowers inside the agency who couldn’t stomach what was happening.

A Pattern of Weaponization

This isn’t a one-off incident. It’s a pattern. Under this administration, the FBI has been used as a political tool to suppress free speech, silence dissent, and intimidate everyday Americans. The hearing also highlighted:
✔️ The FBI’s use of SWAT teams to arrest peaceful pro-life demonstrators.
✔️ The complete lack of action to investigate attacks on pro-life organizations and churches.
✔️ The FBI’s collusion with social media giants to censor political speech and control narratives.

What Happens Next?

Mr. Patel, under pressure, assured the Senate that if confirmed, he would conduct investigations and ensure accountability. But we’ve heard this before. The FBI’s leadership has repeatedly lied to Congress, covered up corruption, and refused to take action.

If we want real change, we need more than empty promises. We need:
Full declassification of all related memos so the American people know the truth.
Accountability for those who authorized these abuses—up to and including terminations.
A complete restructuring of the FBI to ensure this never happens again.

Final Thoughts

If you had told me five years ago that the FBI would be spying on churches and hunting down concerned parents, I would’ve called you paranoid. Today, it’s our reality. The erosion of civil liberties isn’t theoretical—it’s happening in real-time. And unless we stand up, speak out, and demand accountability, it’s only going to get worse.

Stay vigilant. Stay loud. Stay free.

Trump’s Executive Orders: A Bold Return to America First Policies

When Donald Trump took the oath of office once again, he wasted no time reshaping the federal government. With the stroke of a pen, he signed a series of executive orders aimed at reversing policies from the previous administration and reinstating his America First agenda.

Dismantling the Deep State and Restoring Free Speech

Trump’s first move was to revoke 78 executive orders from his predecessor, effectively erasing policies he deemed harmful to national interests. Free speech was high on the list, as he signed an order prohibiting federal censorship and protecting whistleblowers within government agencies.

Ending Weaponization of Government and Holding Bureaucrats Accountable

The federal government, in Trump’s view, had become a tool for political persecution. His new order directs agencies to end biased investigations and reestablish fair treatment of all Americans. Additionally, former officials suspected of election interference will face scrutiny under a newly established review process.

Reclaiming America’s Energy Dominance

Declaring a national energy emergency, Trump removed barriers to oil, gas, and coal production. He also greenlit resource extraction projects in Alaska, aiming to reduce energy costs and cut reliance on foreign oil.

Securing the Border and Reasserting National Sovereignty

One of his most controversial yet expected moves was reinstating a national emergency at the southern border. This allows the deployment of military forces to assist with border security and detain illegal migrants. Further tightening immigration policies, he signed an order attempting to end birthright citizenship for children of illegal immigrants.

Slashing Globalist Ties and Reprioritizing America’s Interests

True to form, Trump began the process of withdrawing from the World Health Organization and reassessing U.S. foreign aid. These moves, he argued, would redirect funds back to American taxpayers and curb foreign influence over domestic policies.

Defending Biological Truth and Dismantling DEI Initiatives

One of the most debated orders centered on gender identity. Trump directed federal agencies to define gender strictly as male and female, eliminating government policies recognizing non-binary identities. In a similar vein, he abolished diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs across federal agencies, stating that merit should be the sole criteria for hiring and promotion.

Reinstating Law and Order with the Death Penalty

With crime rates a hot-button issue, Trump reinstated the federal death penalty for certain violent crimes. He also labeled specific drug cartels as terrorist organizations, giving law enforcement greater authority to dismantle them.
As a libertarian and a pro-life advocate, I personally disagree with the death penalty.   Instead I would opt-in for making a law legalizing dueling again.

Restoring Historical American Landmarks

In a symbolic move, he ordered the renaming of various landmarks to their historical names, including changing Denali back to Mount McKinley. This aligns with his broader effort to reject progressive changes to American history.

Conclusion

Trump’s executive orders mark a clear pivot from the previous administration’s policies. Love him or hate him, his return to the White House has already shaken up Washington, with these sweeping changes setting the stage for the next four years.

Donald Trump’s Second Term: A New Dawn or a Familiar Storm?

As Donald J. Trump steps back into the Oval Office for his second term, the nation stands at the crossroads of great hope and deep skepticism. The 45th—now 47th—President of the United States has once again defied the establishment, securing another four years to reshape America’s trajectory. But with his track record of victories and missteps, the question remains: Will he fulfill his most ambitious promises, or will history repeat itself?

Inauguration 2025 LIVE: Donald Trump sworn in as 47th president

A Presidency of Contradictions

Trump’s first term was a paradox—equal parts triumph and controversy. His commitment to “draining the swamp” fueled the MAGA movement, yet his hardline stance on prosecuting political adversaries has already softened before he even takes office. Promising to take down both Hillary Clinton and the so-called “Biden Crime Family,” Trump now signals he won’t push for their prosecution. For his supporters, this is déjà vu—a repeat of his 2016 rhetoric that ultimately led nowhere.

On the Second Amendment, Trump has left many gun-rights advocates uneasy. Despite branding himself as the most pro-Second Amendment president in history, his administration supported bump stock bans and infamously suggested, “Take the guns first, go through due process second.” These moves have alienated portions of his base who view any infringement on gun rights as a betrayal.

Trump’s response to Puerto Rico during Hurricane Maria was widely criticized for a lack of empathy. His feud with local officials and the slow federal response left many questioning his crisis management abilities. With another term ahead, his handling of national disasters will be closely watched.

Where Trump Got It Right

Yet, for all the criticism, there were undeniable wins during Trump’s first presidency. One of his most significant achievements was energy independence. By expanding domestic energy production, he drove down fuel costs, which in turn lowered the price of goods and services nationwide. The economic ripple effect benefited countless Americans, proving that strong energy policy can stabilize inflation.

Trump also avoided new wars—a rare feat for modern presidents. Instead of entangling America in endless conflicts, he focused on diplomacy and de-escalation. This saved American lives, curbed military spending, and helped keep inflation in check. Many who prioritize non-interventionist foreign policy see this as one of his strongest legacies.

On cultural issues, Trump has promised to end gender ideology in public schools and prevent biological men from competing in women’s sports. These policies appeal to conservatives who feel that progressive overreach has eroded traditional values and harmed many children before their brains are mature enough to make these very permanent choices. Whether he can enforce these policies effectively remains to be seen, but the commitment is clear.

What Should Happen Next?

While many celebrate Trump’s return, others believe his ambitions must go further. If he truly seeks to restore America’s foundation, he must address the Federal Reserve’s grip on the economy and dismantle or significantly reduce the IRS. Without tackling these financial powerhouses, true economic freedom remains out of reach.

The Verdict: Wait and See

As Trump 2.0 begins, America braces for impact. Will he double down on his promises, or will he compromise? The stakes are high, and the people are watching. Whether you love him or loathe him, one thing is certain—Donald Trump’s second term will be nothing short of historic.

For now, I remain hopeful. Rooting for the President of the United States, 45 and 47. Let’s see how this ride plays out.
