Governor David Ige’s plan to open Summit Rd December 19th 2020. There is a plan to pull the law enforcement assets of the Mauna Kea Summit road by Governor David Ige. He also says that the TMT is not ready to build the TMT telescope yet. But what is not a concern it seems, is the constitutional rights of other Hawaii citizens. I have been informed by a local group of concerned citizens, that if the road is not cleared by January 15th 2020, that they will block the Daniel K. Inouye Hwy You may want to consider using an alternative route on January 15th 2020. Route 200, known locally as Saddle Road Designated as Daniel K. Inouye Hwy May be temporarily closed on January 15th, 2020
Then shortly after we released our recent video to speak about Governor Ige’s decision, this press release came out.
MAUNA KEA >> State law enforcement officers have given the Mauna Kea protesters an ultimatum to clear out of their camp on the access road by Dec. 26 or face arrest.
