  • UNITY AND EQUALITY IN HAWAIIHawaii should remain unified with the United States, and our people should remain unified under a single sovereignty. We are all equal in the eyes of God, and should all be treated equally by our government. Oppose the racial separatist Akaka bill. Oppose the ethnic nationalist secessionist movement. • Hawaiian Kingdom was Multiracial but Akaka bill is racial separatistHawaiian Kingdom was multiracial. Non-natives born in Hawaii, or naturalized, were full partners with voting rights. Caucasians comprised perhaps 1/4 of the legislature (both elected and appointed). Most cabinet ministers and department heads were Caucasian. In 1893 only 40% of Hawaii’s people had one drop of more of native blood. The Akaka bill seeks to create a racially exclusionary government which never existed here. • Hawaii Revolution (1893) and Annexation (1898) Internationally Recognized

Following the revolution of 1893, the permanent successor government Republic of Hawaii was internationally recognized as the rightful government, de jure, by letters from emperors, kings, and presidents of at least 20 nations on 4 continents in 11 languages. Photos of the original documents are available. No nation ever protested annexation; and all former treaty partners of the Kingdom accepted annexation.
