My Range Rover Sport is four years old, and last week the dashboard showed a brake pad warning. I took it to a workshop in Dubai, and the quote for the front pads and discs made me stare at the paper for a full minute. The advisor said it is normal for a heavy luxury SUV, but I could not tell if he was being honest. The car has about…

I have been driving my Infiniti QX50 for about three years now and honestly the maintenance costs are starting to add up more than I expected. Last month I paid a decent amount just for a routine check and some small part replacement and it got me thinking if I should look into some kind of service package instead of paying every time…

I have lived in the UAE for only four months, and the one thing I keep hearing from every car person I meet is that I must get film on my car. At the office, at the petrol station, even from the guy who sold me my Kia Sportage. I nodded every time, but I never asked the obvious thing, which is why. Back home nobody puts anything on their paint,… Read more

I travel a lot for work, and my Honda CR-V sometimes sits in the parking lot for two or three weeks. Every time I come back, the engine cranks slowly, and twice I needed a jump start from the security guy. He told me I should buy a charger and keep the battery topped up, but I have never owned one and honestly do not know where to start.…

Yesterday evening I was driving back from work on the Mussafah road when a yellow gear symbol popped up on my dashboard, and my stomach dropped. The car is an Audi A7, about five years old, with roughly 85,000 km, and until now it has been the most boring and reliable thing in my life. I pulled over, switched the engine off, waited a minute…

A reliable WiFi connection has become something most people simply expect. At home, in an office, or in a commercial property, we want the network to work without constantly thinking about it. But when the connection becomes slow, certain areas have weak coverage, or too many devices are connected at once, finding the right solution can…

I almost got completely stuck on the lower ramp of our office tower this morning because my ignition decided to hesitate for nearly four seconds before the engine finally sputtered alive, which pretty much confirmed my suspicion that the battery is on its absolute last legs after surviving through two brutal summer seasons without a… Read more

Colleague recommendation being what finally moved you to act after two weeks of unsatisfying phone calls is the pattern that most good independent specialists rely on for their customer base. The ones doing genuinely accurate diagnosis and fair pricing don’t need aggressive marketing because the referrals come naturally from people… Read more

Shifting smoothly since the repair confirming the diagnosis was correct is the only real validation that matters more than any promise made before the work started.

The other shop suggesting a whole new gearbox without proper diagnosis is unfortunately common for BMW transmission complaints because it’s the recommendation that requires the least diagnostic effort and generates the most revenue. A solenoid fault and a completely failed gearbox can produce similar symptoms at the driver level but… Read more

Two weeks of putting it off because every place sounded clueless or quoted absurdly is such a familiar experience for BMW owners trying to find transmission help outside the dealer network. The frustration of knowing something is wrong but not trusting anyone to look at it properly is genuinely stressful especially when the car is your… Read more

Solenoid diagnosis rather than full gearbox replacement being the outcome of proper diagnosis versus guesswork is exactly the cost difference that makes finding a genuinely qualified workshop worth the extra research time. Those are very different repair bills.

I put off getting my BMW’s gearbox looked at for almost two weeks because I couldn’t find a shop I trusted. Every place I called either sounded clueless or quoted me a price that seemed way too high. Last week I finally decided to try gearboxrepairsharjah.ae/brands/bmw after a colleague mentioned he’d heard good things. They told me to bring it…

My Range Rover Evoque has been acting up lately. The AC is weak and there’s a warning light on the dash that I don’t recognize. I’m in Al Nahda and I’ve asked a few people for recommendations but nobody seems to know a place that actually understands Land Rovers. I don’t want to take it to just any garage because I’ve heard too many stories…

My Camaro SS is due for new brake pads and I’ve been putting it off for weeks because I don’t know where to take it. I’ve been burned before by a garage that used cheap pads and they started squealing within a month, so I’m being extra careful this time. I was searching around online and came across a page that said “…

I’m seriously torn right now because I just picked up a gently used 2021 Autobiography and the previous owner clearly loved their automatic car washes a bit too much – the holograms are everywhere and it’s doing my head in every time the sun hits it at a certain angle.
